Welcome to Andrea's Webpage!
Cause I said so.
My name is Andrea, and this is my website. I'm almost const antly working on it, and it will never be completely finished, at least not in this lifetime. :-) I'm going through a revision of colors and such on almost all of my pages, so please bear with me if you find any colors that just don't look right. :-)
I have found that because of my job with BYU (Network Operations Center Analyst), I have most of the necessary resources around me that I need to constantly be tinkering on my internet projects. I've discovered that I really enjoy designing and making websites, and I'm continually playing with this and updating and adding more links and such.
My Artwork link contains some of my latest pieces of artwork along with my favorites from years ago.
My Family link includes some, well, entertaining pictures of my family (it's a wonder no one has killed me yet), along with links to pages that give updates on each individual member of my family and what they are doing right now.
I believe that I am blessed with the world's cutest nieces. I had to include a bunch of my favorite pictures of them in My Nieces link.
I am writing a book, as I mention below, and I've been asked to include a part of it in My Book link. It's only the first part of the first chapter, but you'll get a bit of a feel for what its all about.
My Science link, is well, entertaining to me. :-)
I absolutely love taking and looking at pictures. Hence, I've added a More Pictures link that includes more pictures (obviously) of my family, me, my nieces, etc.
THE END
(This isn't really the ending, but merely a pause before the "About Me" section.)
About Me:
I was born in SLC and was raised in Utah County. My first memories are of BYU campus (and getting my diaper changed when I was two years old, oddly enough), which is where my dad was a student until I was about six years old.
When I was around six/seven, we moved to a small duplex in Provo, close to the mountains. I loved living there, and my siblings and I would frequently explore the foothills that surrounded us. We came across abandoned buildings occasionally and always found tons of dead deer. We used to bring random legs and hooves home until we realized that my mom didn't appreciate that. :-) Once I remember we found a ton of rocks and stones that a museum had dumped down a hill. We felt like we had discovered a treasure!
I won't mention the other things we did for fun. Like building bombs out of dry ice, etc. :-)
After I was ten, we moved to Payson, Utah, another favorite location. Our house was situated at the top of a large ravine type thing. We owned about an acre of land, which included the ravine, a creek, part of a meadow on the other side of the creek, a large garden, a huge side lawn where we would play games, and TONS of trees. A child's paradise! My siblings and I would wade in the creek, slide down the hill in the winter time, play hide and go seek, swing from a large rope, and we even built a tree house.
At the age of 13 my family moved to Lehi, Utah, where we have lived since. I attended Mountain Ridge Junior High part time, and Lone Peak High School part time. I was homeschooled full time through elementary school and part time during junior high and high school. I learned how to play the viola and taught myself the piano. I also discoved an intense desire to express myself through the visual arts. I graduated from highschool and attended UVSC for a couple of years, and then was called to serve a mission in the Canada Toronto East Mission, speaking the Spanish language. My mission was a very special time of my life, and has sculpted a lot of who I am today.
Right before my mission, I was accepted to BYU, and I have been studying there ever since. I am studying in the field of Communication Disorders, under Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology. This is a field that is very interesting to me. If you have ever seen My Fair Lady, I will be doing what Pickering and Professor Higgins did. Pretty cool! I work as an Operation C enter Analyst for Brigham Young University and for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints . I really enjoy my job. I'm also writing a book (The Adventures of Jacob, seven chapters completed), and have added part of the first chapter under the "My Book" link.
Please let me know what you think of my website, and let me know of any changes I should make. You can make a comment by clicking on the "Make a Comment" link that is on nearly all of the pages.
