Manage and perform all maintenance, upgrades, recommendations and implementation relating to AIX and Linux servers, workstations, printers and faxing, rfscanners, wireless networking, remote connectivity, including VNC, VPN (PPTP), Terminal Services (RDP). Installed and managed hot-backups, including making the source code available via HTML browsing for developers, including data replication on an enterprise Universe (IBM) RDBMS to guarantee speed of access and guaranteed uptime availability. All duties from previous position plus trained and coordinated the efforts of the Client Services Team. Trained another individual to repair broken files and effectively support the uniVerse R.D.B.M.S.

Lead and coordinated Unix, UniVerse, PICK, and Windows/DOS support team. Included scheduling of resources and escalation of high profile issues. Handled management tasks such as time allocation, vacation, personal time and work schedules. Coordinated assignments and recovery of down-systems including the development of a statistics-gathering spreadsheet for tracking instances. Headed disaster recovery for all "Dynix" products. Continued performing all tasks of previous position.

  • Technical Team Leader, PC-Based Products

Lead training for less senior Customer Support programmer/analysts to facilitate their ability to trouble-shoot Dynix product line. Specialist on Vmark's UniVerse Database, R-83 PC based PICK, Ultimate's native PICK, Unix, terminal emulation and facilitating problem solving for an extensive client-base. Excellent rapport with clients and employees. Used extensively by in-house documentation department as a content expert for both employee and client training documentation. Used by training department for employee and client training in UniVerse/PICK file structure, Unix and Unix/UniVerse system maintenance theory and practice. Wrote training manuals from which courses were taught. System administrator of in-house training database including installation, set-up, special customization programming and maintenance to allow 4 separate databases to be simultaneously and independently accessed (virtual separation). Continued performing most tasks from previous position.

  • Senior Systems Analyst

Member of Installation team and Customer Support team. Responsible for support of clients installed on varied platforms, including IBM, HP, DEC, MIPS, Sequoia, Sequent, SCO/Unix, Ultimate PICK, R-83 PICK for the PC. Work included support and customization of client software. Specialized in terminal emulation/communications, user interface design, modem operations, Unix permissions and process manipulation and filesystem construct. Also wrote utilities in PICK BASIC to alleviate system errors due to size constraints. Worked directly with clients 6-10 hours daily.

  • Contracts Coordinator

Negotiated and solved issues directly with clients or agents including monetary, hardware and software and implementation issues. Composed client specific language and negotiated earnings above proposed sales of over $40,000 during six months. Programmed a spreadsheet on proper system sizing which has saved thousands of dollars in preventative upgrade costs. Still in use after re-writing in PICK BASIC. Implemented an insurance initiative that saved the company thousands and many more thousands in potential losses.
